Moving East Point Forward

Housing Stability & Community Wellness Moves East Point Forward

Current Initiatives: East Point champions community wellness through the Healthy Point Program, an annual campaign that encourages active, healthy lifestyles. The city collaborates with the Partnership for Southern Equity (PSE) and other organizations to expand attainable, quality housing options. Public housing programs provide affordable, safe homes for seniors, low-income families, and individuals with disabilities. The city also promotes neighborhood wellness by developing green spaces, supporting walking groups, and hosting inclusive community events that foster physical health and social connection.

The following focus areas will strengthen housing stability and community wellness by:

  • Champion and expanding the Healthy Point program to engage more residents in health and wellness activities.
  • Partner with housing organizations like PSE to increase affordable, quality housing across the city.
  • Promote diverse housing options that accommodate residents at every life stage.
  • Supporting homeownership, rehabilitation, and aging-in-place initiatives to maintain stable, vibrant neighborhoods.
  • Integrate community-based mental health services within housing programs to support holistic well-being.
  • Encourage neighborhood wellness through development of green spaces, walking groups, and inclusive community programming.
